5 GOOD REASONS TO EAT CHOCOLATE

Why do we love chocolate so much?

It has always been blamed for causing weight gain and acne, but in fact chocolate has many beneficial qualities that are good for the health and which turn us into

“choc-a-holics”:

 

  • Chocolate puts you in a good mood!

Eating chocolate increases the levels of serotonin - the renowned “happiness hormone” and endorphins – “the love hormone”

  • Chocolate is good for the heart!

Studies at Norwich Medical School and the University of Linkoping have shown that chocolate can be a good remedy for controlling blood pressure, proving to be a good ally for our heart in protecting it from peaks in blood pressure.

  • Chocolate improves concentration levels!

Cocoa contains caffeine and theobromine, two substances that have the power of stimulating the levels of alertness and concentration in the brain. Theobromine is also a stimulant that acts as a natural aphrodisiac!

  • More chocolate, less stress

Thanks to the amount of magnesium it contains, chocolate is an excellent defence against unease, reducing irritability and nervousness.

  • Chocolate lowers cholesterol levels

Stearic acid contained in cocoa is able to increase the levels of good cholesterol and lower bad cholesterol.
